Clyde, the Corrie Seal
The famous Corrie seal sits on a lone rock off the coast, nicknamed Clyde by us, and carved by local, Marvin Elliot. Clyde has often tried to go on his own adventures, leaving his rock on numerous occasions to visit the shores afar for over 15 years, one time making it across to the mainland to Turnberry beach.
“I’m sure he’s just doing it for attention and publicity”
Joked Marvin Elliot, who often re-attaches Clyde to his rock. A guest favourite at The Corrie Hotel, you’ll sometimes see his friends resting and swimming next to him when the weather’s right.
